- Does it work on every video?
- On every public video that has subtitles, whether written by the creator or auto-generated by YouTube. Private videos or videos without any subtitles cannot be transcribed.
- Is the transcript accurate?
- Manual subtitles are exact. YouTube’s auto-generated subtitles are 90–95% reliable on clear speech, less so on music or strong accents. The Language menu tells you whether a track is automatic.
- Can I transcribe into another language?
- Yes, use the Translate subtitles tool: it produces a translated version in more than forty languages.
- Is there a length or usage limit?
- No. Multi-hour videos work and you can transcribe as many as you like.
